The Project

£3.0m refurbishment of the HSBC Bank, Leicester City Centre

Project Requirements

The project required a system with the flexibility to support a multitude of air handling units and the associated services, including mounting pipework, ducting and cable trays.

After detailed consultations with AC2000, the AC Contractor, Big Foot Systems were able to propose a bespoke support solution. The AHU frames were designed for the services to be positioned directly underneath, supported from the underside of the frame on cable trays. The ducting and pipework were supported using H Frames and Multi Foot supports.

The main reason for AC2000 selecting Big Foot Systems was its ability to support all the various types of roof plant and services and the flexibility of modifying the design to get over unexpected site installation problems.

Mr Thompson from AC2000 said that “Big Foot Systems are absolutely cracking kit, the system was designed within 48 hours” he continued “we have recently used Big Foot Systems again as it offers an all in one solution”.

Since the HSB project Big Foot Systems have continued to work closely with other major contractors providing them with a variety of solutions. These have included supports for plant, ducting, pipes, trays and large numbers of busbars.
